Mr Samuel Efosa Osagie

I am the University of Abuja Webmaster and Chief System Analyst, VPS Server administrator, since I joined the University in 2007 and recently was appointed as University of Amazon Cloud Infrastructure administrator and Head Web Design and Development. My area of research includes Forensics analysis, Software engineering, Big Data, Cyber Security, Programming and Cloud Computing. I have thirteen, years professional experience in web application development using PHP, JavaScript, CSS, DHTML and MySQL server., eleven years professional experience in designing, implementing and managing Linux/Unix mail server, eleven years professional experience in managing a Unix/Ubuntu Server gateway.  I have been the Lead Track Instructor Application and Content Development (ACD) in Nigerian Network Operators Group(ngNOG) since Abuja 2013 – date where I have mentored over fifty mentees in application development and database administration, I was a resource person to Bifocal Communications Ltd in Abuja 2011 on the implementation of NCCE ICT Workshop for North East Zone held in Bauchi.  I have been the lead Consultant / Head Project SMITCH InfoTek Ltd Abuja from 2011 till date, I am also a Consultant/Lead Trainer to ConData Systems Ltd – Lagos 2012 – till date. I was the Lead in the integration of the University payment gateway with REMITA, 2017 wish saw the improvement the University IGR by 80% by developing enterprise web solutions that automated the Institutions payment systems. I Created large-scale, portable, thread-safe and ultra-high-performance foundation and application infrastructure libraries, these libraries are for integration with Federal based payment system, REMITA I developed code, system design and test/QA plans for all solutions and often coordinated the national or international rollout. I provided leadership as a subject matter expert (SME) on hosting issues, client and students’ logins, and general upgrades/maintenance of servers. I am also involved in policy design and implementations, leads internal Infrastructure DBA projects, creates test and implementation plans and analyzes and provides recommendations on web application logic and interfaces to improve database performance, capacity, and availability. I lead in all phases of full life-cycle development / maintenance of systems, including: requirements analysis, software design, software implementation, testing, deployment and documentation of web application software artifacts. Work closely with other team members and client representatives to meet the system requirements and business objectives of the University of Abuja.

 

I am the Systems Administrator managing the REDCap instance for CERSTA project, he also the Database and Infrastructure Manager for the CARDIOVASCULAR RESEARCH GROUP.

I have the expertise in leadership, training, and motivation necessary to successfully carry out the proposed research project. I have been the database and Infrastructure manager for  Cardiovascular Research Unit, University of Abuja and University of Abuja Teaching Hospital which also the Hypertension Treatment in Nigeria Research Project (which is a National Institute of Health (NIH) of the United States of America sponsored study) in collaboration with North Western University Chicago, with the major aim of developing a system for hypertension management at public primary care institutions in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria. I developed the infrastructure on which the Research Data Capture (REDCap) for the University of Abuja and University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.

 

I am an Aviatrix Certified Engineer (MCNA) #2021-10174, a MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA), #1601NA321, 2016, MikroTik Certified Network User Management training: (MTCUME), #1901UME1249, 2019, also a Huawei Certified Routing and Switching (HCIA) #901010010180803809368014, 2020 and a Huawei Certified Instructor (HCAI).

His hobbies include spending time with his family, watching soccer on television, playing table tennis and mentoring young ones in the fear of the Lord.
